Our tours will take you to some of the best sights in and around Kansas City and Kansas.

Plan to arrive in Overland Park Saturday, June 17, 2023, to begin your conference experience. Saturday’s highlight will be an all-day private tour of stellar gardens rarely open to the public. Visit memorable places you can only see in Kansas.

Local and regional bus tours begin the morning of June 18th. The Tour of Private Gardens can be self-drive on Saturday, June 17th and Sunday June 18th. These activities will fill up quickly. Remember, additional fees apply to all tours.

TS01A-TS01B – Amber Waves: Two Days in the Kansas Heartland-an overnight to central and southern Kansas.

TS02 – Gardens, Roofs and Prairies in the Little Apple-K-State University gardens and rooftop gardens, Konza Prairie and dinner at a ranch.

TS00,03 and 04 – Tour of Private Gardens…Beauty, Elegance and Inspiration-a tour of six private gardens in the KC Metro area. (TS00 and 03 are self-drive on June 17 or 18th. TS04 is a bus tour on June 18th.) Please note the self-drive option tickets are good for either day. You may only visit each garden once. Additional tickets can be purchased starting in January 2023 at https://www.johnson.k-state.edu.

TS05 – Petals, Vines and Wines-the Monet Garden and two wineries with a chef-curated dinner.

TS06 – Escape to Eastern Kansas, Where Delightful Gardens Abound-two private gardens, Topeka’s Ward-Meade Park and Lake Shawnee Gardens.

TS07 – Pockets of Opportunity: An Urban Farm Tour-a great urban farm tour, greening Kansas City one garden at a time.

TS08 – Preserving the Future: Monarchs, Wetlands and Prairies-Baker Wetlands, the original Monarch Watch, Douglas County Master Gardener demo gardens and Rockefeller Prairie.

TS09 – Nelson-Atkins Museum: Experience Gardens Through Art-a tour of the sculpture garden, Art in Bloom, an inside tour and a visit to the Kauffman Gardens and Anita B. Gorman native gardens.

TS10 – Midtown Gardens: From Prim and Proper to Wild and Woolly-Shawnee Indian Mission Garden, Loose Park Rose Garden, Kauffman Memorial Gardens and Missouri Department of Conservation native gardens.

TS11 – Educating the Gardener in You-Overland Park Arboretum, Backyard Garden and the K-State Research facility, Kill Creek Prairie.

TS12 – KC Arts and Architecture Tour-Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Union Station, 18Broadway Pantry Garden, Zahner Manufacturing.

TS13 – A Relaxing Outing: Behind the Scenes at Boulevard Brewery-The title says it all.
